Although both pressure and soft washing use similar equipment, they are very different from each other. Pressure washing requires very high water pressure to help clean the surface along with the proper detergent. Pressure washing is suitable for hard surfaces such as concrete, brick and other stone exterior facades. Soft washing, on the other hand, uses much lower water pressure in combination with the proper detergents to clean. This is the preferred method to clean home exteriors as it is cleans incredibly well yet prevents many issues that can result of using higher water pressure.

ecoWashers can clean a variety of exterior surfaces, including siding (multiple types), decks, patios, driveways, walkways, roofs, gutters, fences, and even concrete surfaces like pool surrounds. Depending on the surface and situation will determine if we use a soft or pressure washing approach.

In general, washing your home’s exterior once a year is recommended. In some specific cases, we may recommend more or less frequently depending on your specific conditions and area. For example, if you live in an area with heavy mold growth or mildew issues, ecoWashers may recommend more frequent washes.

The duration of time spent on a cleaning depends on many different variables, i.e. size of house, if we are cleaning multiple items (house and driveway), as well as the complexity of the job. That said, the average home exterior cleaning (house only) takes between 1-2 hours from start to finish. Being present during the service is not necessary if it is not convenient for you. Just give us access to an exterior water spigot and close all exterior windows and doors. That said, if possible, we’d prefer to have someone home while we perform any washing service. This is both to help us and to your advantage so we can do a pre-cleaning walk through to identify any areas of concern to ensure we address all of your needs. We also like to be able to do a post-cleaning walk through after we have completed to ensure we have addressed all of your concerns and make sure you are completely happy and satisfied with our service. Rain definitely impacts power and soft washing. We do our best not to schedule a cleaning on a day that is likely to rain. If there's a chance of rain on your scheduled date, we will reach out to you 24-48 hours prior to reschedule.
